The Best Electric Mopeds of 2026 (Moped-Style Ebikes)

Updated June 24, 2026The best electric moped, or moped-style ebike, for most riders in 2026 is the Ride1Up REVV1 ($2,245), a full-suspension 35 mph ride that led our testing. For value, the Heybike Saturn starts at $999 and hit 51.5 miles of tested real-world range on the dual-battery version, and the Power Goat V2 ($2,499) is the most powerful. These are the best electric mopeds we tested in 2026.Hands-on tested · How we test →

Moped-style ebikes are the EV of choice for riders who want style, speed, and a throttle, usually in the $1,000 to $3,400 range. The hard part is knowing which ones are worth the money.

Our top pick right now is the Heybike Saturn. It is the rare moped-style ebike that costs like a budget bike but rides like a premium one. We logged 51.5 real miles on the dual-battery version. At $999 to $1,299 it undercuts almost everything else on this list and still matches them on comfort and power.

The rest of the list is the moped-style ebikes we have tested and trust. We cannot ride every model out there, there are too many, but these are the ones we keep coming back to. After years of testing every kind of personal EV, we are confident recommending each one as a strong place to start.

Best Moped-Style Electric Bikes: Summary

Best Value & Range Moped Ebike: Heybike Saturn

Heybike Saturn budget moped-style electric bike

Heybike Saturn: From $999 (Used Code: RG100 to save)

Our new top pick is the Heybike Saturn, and it earns the spot on value alone. The dual-battery version runs $1,299. For that you get full suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, 20×4 fat tires, a 1000W motor with 1800W peak, and a 330 lb payload. That is a spec sheet that usually costs well over $2,000.

What makes it our Best Value & Range pick is the battery. We logged 51.5 real miles on the dual-battery model, riding hard in the top assist mode with hill tests mixed in. That is the worst case. Ride it smart in the lower gears and 60+ miles is realistic. Most budget mopeds are fun for the first ten miles before range anxiety sets in. The Saturn just keeps going.

It is powerful first and cheap second. Acceleration is punchy for a bike this heavy. It ships as a Class 3 (28 mph) and unlocks to roughly 36 mph where legal, and the ride stays planted and comfortable thanks to the fork and fat tires. The catch is weight. At 103 to 115 lb it is a lot to lift, so plan on ground-floor or garage storage. If you have the space, it is the most range and comfort per dollar we have tested in this class.

Most Comfortable Moped Ebike: Ride1Up REVV1

Ride1Up Revv1 : $2395  $2245

Next up is the Ride1Up REVV1, a competitor to the famed Super 73 series that more than lives up to the hype. This is one of our favorite moped style bikes we’ve tested. It’s got a ton of power, it’s very comfortable to ride, and you get a top speed of 35 mph (when unlocked), all for $2245.

It’s hard to find anything with this level of polish and build quality at this price. The ride feels solid and stable, and Ride1Up does an excellent job of giving you value for every dollar. The REVV1 comes with full suspension, and though it’s not exactly tuned for off-road riding, it feels amazing on the road.

You do get an off-road riding mode, which you have to unlock with codes from Ride1Up after purchase. This is how to unlock the bike’s top speed and get more power.

But you can mostly ignore the “off-road” part of off-road mode, the REVV1 is perfectly tuned for street riding and incredibly fast and comfortable on the road.

Overall, the REVV1 is one of the most solid ebikes we’ve ever ridden. You can jump up and down on it and feel the plush bounce of the suspension. It’s agile, but it has a noticeable heft that inspires confidence right away.

Most Powerful Moped Ebike: Power Goat V3

Power Goat V3: $2499

Up next is the Power Goat V3. What’s awesome about this ebike is that not only is it relatively affordable, it goes for around $2,499, but it’s also very powerful. In the rear is a huge hub motor that outputs a peak power of around 3,000 Watts capable of 40MPH+, making this one of the most powerful ebikes you can purchase in this price range.

You also get a large battery, which means you get good range with this bike, but our favorite part of the Power Goat V2 is this massive seat. It’s perfect for a passenger, and it even comes with pegs, so you can take a date out on your bike.

The Power Goat V3 has full suspension, but we’ll be honest, we found this to be one of the bike’s weaker points. The suspension felt firm but you could definitely swap out the rear shocks to improve that pretty easily.

We really liked how wide the handlebars are, giving you a nice amount of control. You can get a wide, comfortable riding position. Of the three riding modes, Mode 2 is plenty fast for cruising around, and Mode 3 just offers a ton of power and acceleration.

Of course, there’s the 7-speed Shimano drivetrain, with pedal assist that takes a few rotations to kick in, but you’ll probably find yourself using the throttle the most, as with most moped style ebikes.

Overall, we’d have to say the Power Goat V3 is an amazingly feature-packed ebike for the price, with all the power you’ll ever need to frighten people on a Sunday ride.

Best Off-Road Moped Ebike: Ride1Up REVV1 DRT

Ride1Up REVV1 DRT: $2595

Didn’t we already recommend the Ride1Up REVV1? Yes, we did.

And didn’t we say it was not great off-road? Yes, unless you get the REVV1 DRT edition, designed specifically for off-road riding.

The first two bikes on this list are both built for speed and power on the road. Off-road, their limitations become apparent. The REVV1 DRT, on the other hand, handles like a champ on downhill mountain bike trails and pretty much anywhere else you want to take it.

It isn’t only the suspension that won us over on the trail, either. The riding position gives you a ton of confidence when you’re off-road, and that feeling is critical on gravel, loosely packed dirt, and other hazardous off-road terrain.

How much do we like this bike off-road? A bit ago, we compared the REVV1 DRT to a Super 73 moped style ebike of the exact same price, and the DRT embarrassed the competition in every category: speed, suspension, overall feel, build quality, performance on the dirt trials we tested, everything was better on this bike.

For the money, it’s hard to find something with suspension this good and a build this solid, and it actually feels good to pedal on the DRT. Both this bike and the regular REVV1 have the most natural riding positions of all the moped style ebikes we’ve ridden, which makes them more useful as actual bikes than the others.

While the suspension on the DRT is superior to the regular REVV1, we’d still go with the standard build if you’re primarily a street rider.

Electric Moped FAQs

What is the best electric moped in 2026?

The Ride1Up REVV1, a full-suspension 35 mph moped-style ebike, is our top pick at $2,245. On a budget, the Heybike Saturn starts at $999 and hit 51.5 tested miles.

What is the difference between an electric moped and a moped-style ebike?

For most shoppers they are the same product. A moped-style ebike has the moped look, pedals, and a throttle, and it stays in the ebike class. A true electric moped without pedals is usually a registered motor vehicle.

How fast do electric mopeds go?

Most moped-style ebikes top out around 28 mph street-legal and 35 mph or more when unlocked for off-road use. Always check your local class rules.

Are electric mopeds street legal?

Many sell as Class 2 or 3 ebikes that are street-legal at limited speeds. Unlocking higher speeds usually makes them off-road only, so verify your local ebike laws.

How much does an electric moped cost?

Moped-style ebikes run from about $999 for the Heybike Saturn up to $2,600, with most strong picks in the $2,200 to $2,600 range.

Do electric mopeds have pedals?

Moped-style ebikes keep pedals, which is what keeps them legal as ebikes. Pedal-free electric mopeds are usually classed as motor vehicles that need registration.

Summing Up

Those are our top moped-style ebike picks. The Heybike Saturn leads on value and range, and the Ride1Up REVV1, Power Goat V2, and REVV1 DRT cover comfort, power, and off-road.

We test new moped-style ebikes all the time, so this list keeps growing as we find bikes worth your money. When a model earns its spot, it goes here.
