The Power Goat V2 – the SR71 Blackbird of E-Mopeds
The Power Goat V2 is an electric moped that has become very popular online because it does two things right: 1) It’s affordable for its specs and features, and 2) It has a ton of power.
Power Goat V2 – $2,499
There are many new competitors in the e-moped space. Does the Power Goat V2 ram herself to the top or freeze in place and fall over?
I’m putting this bike to the test, and we’ll find out. (Watch my video ride and see my neck turn the summery color of a Ball Park hot dog.)
As always, your mileage, and speed, will vary, but I’ll give you a good sense of what the ride is like in this review of a bike with 3,000W of peak power, a 60V 20Ah battery, and a 50A controller. Let’s go….

Power Goat V2 Top Speed
The top speed of this bike is claimed to be around 45-50 mph. I’ve seen different numbers online. Power Goat Bikes gives a round figure of 40 – 50 mph “dependent on rider weight and terrain.” They also give two different top speed numbers per weight: 48 mph for 150-pound rider and 44 mph for a 240-pound rider.
I hit a top speed of 45 mph on this bike, and it felt fast. The Power Goat V2 is like the SR71 Blackbird of the e-moped market. You don’t even need pedals. One cool thing about this bike is that you can forgo pedaling altogether and order it with pegs like a motorcycle.
E-Moped or EBike?
If you want to ride the Goat V2 like an e-bike, you can. Some people do, and it is a nice touch that they added the gears because it is still actually usable as a bicycle. Most of us won’t pedal, since it’s got 3,000 Watts of peak power in the rear motor and a 60V battery just like my Sur Ron. But if the electronics ever happen to die on you, you can still ride the Power Goat V2 home, unless you get the footpeg version.
Power Goat V2 Features
The Power Goat V2 has a huge, faux leather seat with a classic Chevron pattern. It’s so big, you can fit two people on it, although I don’t know how it would ride with two, but this e-moped has a weight limit of 450 pounds and a rear suspension tuned for 500 pounds total.
Fair warning: This bike is not built for shorter people. Seat height is 33” from the ground, and Power Goat Bikes claims it can fit anyone from 5’8” to 6’2”, with 2-3” seat extension available for even taller riders. That said, for all the power and heft on offer, the Power Goat V2 only weighs 101 pounds.

Additional features on this bike include a rear wheel lock and throttle lock.
It’s got an app with optional navigation, and a full color display that’s really nice to look at. You can set up a password, change the language, set up cruise control, etc.

Power Goat V2 Ride & Acceleration
How’s the ride? I found the suspension a little stiff for my taste, but you can adjust or swap it out as needed. You’ll have to watch our video test ride to see how the Power Goat V2 performs against the Ride1Up REVV1 (and my dad).

In my tests, the Power Goat V2 accelerated from 0 to 30 in 7.6 seconds. My 1/8 mile time was 15.89 seconds – that’s pretty quick! And that’s what you get for $2,500. A massive brushless hub motor with 110 Nm of torque and an incredible sensation of power.
