Better than Lectric? Velotric Fold 1 Comes for the Competition

Velotric Fold 1 – $1,199
Lectric has dominated the folding ebike market recently – so much so that their XP 3.0 folding electric bike is now the third best-selling EV in the US behind Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3.
It’s a great bike (we reviewed it here), and an impressive accomplishment, but aren’t there other options out there? Of course. Lectric has US-based competitors like Velotric on their heels, and bikes like the Velotric Fold 1 might just be the better option for many consumers.
Why Velotric Fold 1?
While the Fold 1 costs a little bit more than the XP 3.0, it’s also got more power and range, as well as an easier folding design and a 20% lower step-through height that makes it easier to ride for those with mobility issues.
The Fold 1 also has a higher weight limit than most folding electric bikes on the market at 440 pounds, and it has an additional cargo or passenger weight limit of 120 pounds.
If you pick up a Fold 1 now during Velotric’s sales, you’ll not only get it at the sale price of $1,199 (down from $1,399), but you’ll also get a free accessories bundle worth $60 – money you would absolutely spend on phone mounts, mirrors, etc. when buying a new bike.
The Velotric Fold 1 can seat passengers and carry cargo, and it can fold up into a large closet or the back of an SUV or “trunk of any car,” with folded dimensions of 38.1 x 22 x 15.2 inches.
The Fold 1 comes with the same 7-speed Shimano drivetrain and 180mm hydraulic disc brakes as the Lectric Xp 3.0, and sports the same size 20 x 3 inch fat tires for traction and stability. And it boasts the same Class 3 speeds, but with a more powerful motor and larger battery.
