Manufacturers often exaggerate or under-report bike weights, especially once pedals and accessories are included.
Tenways claimed 66 lb. Our industrial scale showed 66.05 lb. That’s essentially perfect accuracy and honestly refreshing to see.
At 66 pounds, it’s also lighter than many competing commuter bikes in this category. While it isn’t featherweight, it’s manageable enough for apartment living or carrying up a couple flights of stairs.

We measured 62 dB, roughly equivalent to two people having a conversation.
The motor doesn’t feel loud, harsh, or intrusive. It almost disappears underneath you while riding.

Our lux meter measured ~650 lux. It’s not among the brightest systems we’ve seen, but it’s enough for moderate-speed riding in urban environments.
If you’re consistently riding dark bike paths or pushing close to top speed at night, we’d still recommend adding a stronger supplemental light.

Those numbers aren’t class-leading, but that’s also missing the point of this bike. The Wayfarer isn’t trying to launch you off the line.
Instead, it delivers power in a smooth, natural, highly refined way that feels more like your legs suddenly became superhuman rather than a motor shoving you forward.
We briefly saw 29 mph at top speed. To maintain that, you’ll still contribute some pedal input. This isn’t one of those bikes where you sit there like a passenger while the motor does everything. The system actively works with you.

This bike behaves differently than many budget eBikes. Instead of simply dumping power whenever you move the throttle, the system feels integrated into your riding style.
That’s hard to communicate on a spec sheet, but very easy to feel after riding it.

The hydraulic brakes performed extremely well. The two-piston setup delivered:

Hill climbing stabilized around 10 to 16 mph. It wasn’t among the strongest climbers we’ve tested in this category. Heavier riders, or riders dealing with steep hills, will notice speed reductions sooner than on more powerful bikes.
Still, for commuter use and moderate grades, it performs well enough.

Our test conditions were far from ideal:

What’s impressive isn’t just the number. The battery indicator and range prediction system stayed remarkably accurate throughout the ride with very little fluctuation.
If you pedal normally and actually ride the bike the way Tenways intends, reaching 40 to 50 mi feels very realistic.
