Most new eBike launches follow a pretty familiar formula.

A slightly bigger display. A little more power. Maybe a new color option.

Monarc Marker isn’t that.

The newly launched brand from Lectric enters the market with something we don’t often see on premium commuter and fat tire eBikes: a massive factory-installed dual-battery system totaling 30Ah and 1,440Wh of capacity.

That alone made us stop scrolling.

We’re currently working on a full hands-on review here at RiderGuide, but after digging into the details, it’s clear that Monarc Marker isn’t simply another model in the Lectric lineup. It’s an entirely new premium-focused brand designed to target riders who want more range, more refinement, and higher-end components than what is typically found in the value segment.

The First Thing We Noticed: The Battery

Most commuter and fat tire eBikes today land somewhere between 10Ah and 20Ah of battery capacity.

Even many premium models marketed as long-range machines require riders to purchase an optional second battery if they want serious mileage.

Monarc Marker skips that conversation entirely.

Every bike ships with two 48V 15Ah LG-cell batteries, combining for a substantial 30Ah and 1,440Wh of total capacity. That’s more battery than many riders will ever need in a single day and puts the bike into territory normally occupied by cargo bikes and dedicated long-range touring builds.

For riders who commute daily, explore long gravel routes, or simply hate charging their bike every ride, this could be one of the most compelling features on the entire bike.

The premium eBike market talks a lot about performance. Monarc Marker seems determined to make a case for practicality too.

What Stands Out

Power comes from a Bafang B750 rear hub motor paired with a beefy 30-amp controller, allowing the system to deliver up to 1,638 watts of peak power when needed. On paper, that should provide plenty of punch for steep hills, heavier riders, and loose terrain.

The drivetrain is another pleasant surprise. Monarc Marker uses a Shimano Cues 9-speed drivetrain, one of Shimano’s newest eBike-focused groupsets. It’s designed specifically to handle the higher torque loads of electric bikes while providing smoother shifting and improved durability over time.

Stopping duties are handled by Talon P4 four-piston hydraulic brakes paired with oversized 203mm front and 180mm rear rotors. That’s exactly the kind of braking setup we like seeing on a bike capable of 28 mph and weighing nearly 90 pounds.

Up front, riders get an 80mm Gneiss reverse-arch suspension fork, while the 26×4-inch Kenda tires should provide plenty of grip and comfort whether you’re riding pavement, gravel paths, or light off-road trails.

Overall, the component package feels intentionally premium rather than simply focused on producing the biggest numbers possible.

Why Lectric Created a Separate Brand

This launch also answers a question we’ve wondered about for a while.

Lectric has become one of the largest eBike companies in North America by focusing on value. That strategy has worked incredibly well.

But success can create its own challenge.

When most riders hear the Lectric name, they immediately think affordable eBikes. That’s a strength, but it can also make it harder to sell products that compete directly with premium commuter and lifestyle brands.

Monarc Marker gives Lectric a clean slate.

Rather than stretching the Lectric brand upward, they’ve created an entirely separate identity aimed at riders who are willing to spend more for higher-end components, greater range, premium styling, and a more refined overall experience.

It’s a strategy we’ve seen work successfully in countless industries.

Premium Buyers Are Looking for Different Things

The premium eBike segment has changed dramatically over the last few years.

Five years ago, most riders were comparing motor wattage and top speed.

Today, buyers are asking different questions: How often do I need to charge? How comfortable is it after two hours in the saddle? How reliable are the components? And how polished does the overall ownership experience feel?

Monarc Marker appears to be targeting exactly those riders.

The giant battery system may grab the headlines, but the bigger story may be that Lectric believes enough customers are ready for a premium experience that launching an entirely new brand makes sense. That’s a significant statement about where the eBike market is headed.

What We Want To Test

As impressive as the specifications look on paper, there are still plenty of questions we want answered before drawing conclusions.

How does the bike actually ride? Does carrying 1,440Wh of battery capacity affect handling? How refined does the overall experience feel compared to established premium competitors? And perhaps most importantly, does Monarc Marker feel like a genuinely premium product, or simply a Lectric with more expensive parts?

Early Verdict

First impressions matter, and Monarc Marker certainly made one.

The enormous 30Ah dual-battery system immediately stands out in a crowded market, and the decision to launch an entirely separate premium-focused brand suggests Lectric is thinking much bigger than a single bike release.

Whether Monarc Marker becomes a major player in the premium category remains to be seen. But if the goal was to get riders talking, it’s off to a strong start.
