VMAX Electric Scooter Lineup 2026:
Every Current Model Explained

VMAX has one of the most complete single-motor electric scooter lineups in the United States for 2026. Its current range starts with the lightweight $599 VX5 Pro and extends to the 37 mph, 2,800W New VX4, with several commuter-focused choices in between.

By Matt Kaye, Lead Tester|7 models compared|11 min read

That variety is also what makes the VMAX lineup a little confusing. There are seven models and multiple battery configurations, including two completely different scooters named VX4. Several VX2 models also share similar prices and top speeds while offering significantly different suspension, braking and battery setups.

This guide explains every VMAX electric scooter currently listed for sale in the United States and identifies the type of rider each model makes the most sense for. Prices were checked on July 16, 2026 and may change with future promotions.

The brand

What Makes VMAX Electric Scooters Different?

VMAX was founded in Switzerland in 2015 and entered the U.S. market in 2023. The company now operates from Los Angeles, while its scooters are designed in Switzerland and manufactured in China under VMAX’s own quality standards.

The brand’s specialty is extracting unusually strong acceleration and hill-climbing performance from a single rear motor. This generally keeps VMAX scooters lighter and simpler than comparable dual-motor models while still delivering enough power for heavier riders and steep urban terrain.

VMAX also focuses heavily on practical ownership features. Current models use low-maintenance drum and regenerative braking systems, while the higher-end models add a rear disc brake. Most also have tubeless tires, turn signals, strong water-resistance ratings and controls that can be accessed without relying entirely on a phone app.

Every scooter in the current U.S. lineup is backed by a 24-month warranty. VMAX says it will continue helping customers source replacement parts after that period, although normal wear, tires, brakes and batteries are among the exclusions listed in its published warranty policy.

Range note: Independent RiderGuide, Electric Scooter Guide or third-party testing is used where available. Several newer product pages also publish VMAX performance-mode testing. Estimated figures for the VX2 Pro LT and smaller-battery New VX4 are based on the tested larger-battery version and the relative battery capacities.

Actual range varies substantially with rider weight, speed, terrain, temperature, wind and tire pressure.

The VX5 Pro is the least expensive and lightest scooter in the current VMAX lineup. Its 17 mph speed limit is noticeably lower than every VX2 or VX4 model, but that also makes it more approachable for beginners, teenagers and riders who primarily use bike lanes or slower neighborhood streets.

Although it does not have suspension, the VX5 Pro has better construction and braking hardware than many scooters around its price. It also performs very well in range testing. Depending on the test and conditions, the GT version has covered approximately 20 to 23 miles, putting it close to—or slightly beyond—its 22-mile advertised figure.

The VX2 Pro is the established all-purpose commuter in the lineup. It is substantially faster and more powerful than the VX5 Pro but remains light enough to lift into a vehicle or carry up a reasonable flight of stairs.

The $999 GT is the version we would choose. Its 768Wh battery delivered 29.5 miles in Electric Scooter Guide testing, which is excellent range from a 45-pound scooter. The $799 LT uses a smaller 499Wh battery, making it better suited to shorter commutes where purchase price matters more than maximum distance.

The trade-off is ride comfort. The VX2 Pro does not have suspension, so its 10-inch pneumatic tires must handle all of the impact absorption. Riders dealing with broken pavement should look closely at the similarly priced VX2 Lite.

The VX2 Extreme takes the relatively portable VX2 formula and adds substantially more torque. Its 1,600W peak output is particularly impressive because the scooter still weighs less than 47 pounds in the two configurations currently offered.

Its strengths are acceleration, hill climbing and its unusually high 330-pound rider capacity. Its weakness is that the frame still has no suspension. That combination of aggressive acceleration and a rigid chassis makes the Extreme best suited to experienced riders with reasonably smooth roads.

VMAX reports 18.2 miles of real-world range for the LT and 22.8 miles for the ST when ridden in Beast Mode at urban traffic speeds. An independently tested, larger-battery GT that is no longer listed in the current collection reached 28.9 miles, but buyers should not apply that number to the smaller LT and ST versions now being sold.

Best for
Heavier riders, steep hills and anyone wanting the most acceleration from a sub-50-pound VMAX.

Despite its name, the VX2 Lite is not the lightest VX2. The “Lite” positioning is really about price: it brings VMAX’s newer full-suspension chassis down to $799.

The front uses an oil-damped hydraulic fork, while an elastomer unit at the rear smooths smaller impacts without adding the weight and complexity of a traditional coil shock. The result should be considerably more comfortable than the rigid VX2 Pro or VX2 Extreme on cracked pavement.

The base model uses a 499Wh battery and delivered 17 miles in VMAX’s top-performance test. The extended-range model increases capacity to 874Wh and reached 29.9 miles under the same type of riding. Both versions use a front drum brake and rear regenerative brake rather than the added rear disc brake found on the VX2 Hub.

The original VX4 remains listed alongside its much faster replacement. It is a larger and more comfort-focused scooter than the rigid-frame VX2 Pro and Extreme, with full suspension, a wide deck and 10-inch hybrid off-road tires.

It also gets a stronger braking system than the lower-priced models. A front drum brake is joined by a mechanical rear disc and regenerative braking, giving the scooter three methods of slowing down when both levers are used.

The downside is that it weighs 60.4 pounds but still tops out at 25 mph. That makes it less appealing for performance shoppers now that the VX2 Hub exists. It can still make sense for riders who prioritize a large, stable chassis and find it on a deeper clearance sale.

The VX2 Hub is where VMAX’s 2026 lineup comes together. It is faster than every older VX2, more portable than either VX4 and equipped with the suspension and three-part braking system missing from the VX2 Pro and Extreme.

Its 1,900W peak motor can reach 34 mph and is rated for inclines up to 35 percent. Our testing put practical range at approximately 23 to 30 miles, depending on battery size and riding conditions.

The $1,199 version is probably enough for riders with moderate daily mileage. The $1,399 version increases the battery from 624Wh to 874Wh and is the better option for longer commutes, heavier riders or routes with significant elevation.

Riders who want one scooter to combine speed, suspension, range and manageable weight.

The New VX4 is a substantially different scooter from the original VX4. Peak power rises from 1,600W to 2,800W, top speed jumps from 25 to 37 mph and the front suspension gains adjustable preload.

The rear uses a progressive elastomer system that becomes firmer as it is compressed. This gives the New VX4 a controlled, low-maintenance suspension design without the visual bulk of dual exposed coil shocks.

The smaller version has an 811Wh battery, while the $1,699 model increases capacity to 1,056Wh. Independent testing of the larger version recorded approximately 37 mph and around 33 miles of range while riding in Beast Mode on somewhat hilly terrain.

A proportional estimate puts the smaller battery version near 25 to 26 miles under similar use, although that version has not been independently tested under the same conditions.

This is still a single-motor scooter, but its acceleration and speed put it closer to the performance-scooter category. New riders should begin in the lower power modes and become familiar with its throttle response before unlocking maximum performance.

Decision guide

Which VMAX Scooter Should You Buy?

For riders on a tight budget, the VX5 Pro GT remains an unusually well-built entry-level option with excellent real-world range.

The VX2 Pro GT is the best choice for riders who prioritize portability and range over suspension. The VX2 Lite is the better option at a similar price when rough pavement and ride comfort matter more.

Choose the VX2 Extreme when acceleration, hill climbing and rider capacity are more important than suspension. Move up to the VX2 Hub when you want that stronger performance with a much smoother chassis and better brakes.

The original VX4 is now a specialized comfort pick rather than the obvious flagship. The New VX4 is the true top model, delivering nearly everything VMAX does well in one 37 mph package.

For most buyers with the budget, the VX2 Hub is the sweet spot of the 2026 VMAX lineup. It is fast enough to be exciting, comfortable enough for daily commuting and substantially easier to handle than the heavier New VX4.
