When the VMAX VX2 Pro first launched, it quickly became one of our favorite electric scooters under $1,000. Paul did the original review for this scooter, but for the past five months, I’ve been riding it to evaluate its long-term potential.
In this review, I’ll tell you how the VX2 Pro has held up over the past four or five months with regular use – even after a crash – and I’ll tell you how it stacks up against some other sub-$1,000 scooters I really like.
Who Is This Scooter For?
The VMAX VX2 Pro has a maximum payload of 287 pounds, so even heavier riders should feel comfortable on it. It’s IPX6 water-resistant, has a front drum brake and rear regenerative braking and doesn’t have suspension but you get 10-inch tubeless tires to cushion bumps in the road.
The VX2 Pro remains a great commuter electric scooter with speed, hill climbing ability, acceleration, and range that beats the competition at this price. While the ride quality isn’t as plush as a scooter with front and rear suspension, the trade-off is less maintenance, lighter weight for portability.
