Lectric XP Lite Electric Bike Review: An Everyday Essential
Lectric XP Lite - $749
We’ve discussed the possibility of personal electric vehicles becoming like power tools, maybe even sharing batteries with your lawnmower or other piece of lawn equipment.
That’s one route ebikes and electric scooters could take. They could also become less like tools and more like household appliances. An electric bike could one day be as essential as a blender, microwave, or refrigerator, something you don’t want to live without, no matter where you live.
Well, if that happens, then the Lectric XP Lite is what we think an essential electric bike should be.
Stick around and learn why in our full review….

He joined Rider Guide in 2023, and between the two channels, he spends seven days a week riding, testing, and writing about electric scooters. Lectric XP Lite: Quality & Affordability
It’s rare to find an electric bike that hits the mark in both of these categories: if you want quality, you typically have to pay well over $1000; if you want affordability, you have to tolerate lower build quality and less reliability.
The Lectric XP Lite doesn’t force you to compromise for either quality or price, delivering on both fronts in a personal electric vehicle from the most trusted ebike brand in North America.
The XP Lite comes perfectly setup and tuned right out of the box — no need for near-re-assembly that often takes place with a bike at this price point.
You can safely ride this ebike right away without worrying about dangerously loose bolts, warped brake rotors, and other direct-to-consumer ebike issues.
Lectric XP Lite: Size & Convenience
The XP Lite is probably the best quality, most compact, and most lightweight electric bike you can buy for the price, and it’s a must for ebikers living in small spaces.
Even at such a compact size, however, this 20-inch, folding e-bike can still fit larger riders. Its seat post and handlebars can be raised for riders up to 6′ 4″, and the bike comfortably fit our 6′ 1″ test rider.
“It’s this compactness that makes this such an appealing ebike and one of the biggest reasons I feel like this should be a staple product for most people. E-Bikes and even folding e-bikes are often associated with bulky size and weight, but at 46 pounds, the XP Lite really lives up to its name…. It folds down so compactly, in fact, that I was able to fit it in the trunk of my VW Jetta with room to spare.” – Mitchell
Lectric XP Lite: Simplicity & Intuitive Operation
Rather than using a 7-speed mechanical gear-shifting system typical on full-size e-bikes, the Lectric XP Lite is a single-speed.
The simplicity of this setup saves a significant amount of weight – no cassette, rear derailleur, shifters, or shift cables to route – as well as maintenance: No tuning and adjusting the derailleur and shifters or replacing worn or frayed shift cables.
Rather than shifting gears, you just set the pedal assist for your conditions, and go. The motor kicks in when you need it, with 5 modes of pedal assist at speeds up to 20 mph. It’s a fast, fun bike that’s extra nimble because of its small size.
The mechanical disc brakes are not as good as hydraulic brakes on most larger, pricier ebikes, but they get the job done admirably and only require a little setup and adjustment to keep them working well.
Lectric XP Lite: Design, Build & Reliability
Build quality on the Lectric XP Lite is pretty faultless, especially for the price, and with proper storage and maintenance, this bike should last for several years of reliable riding, with a warranty from Lectric you can count on.
The bike comes standard with knobby tires for light off-road riding, front and rear lights, a kickstand, and a removable battery for potentially 2x the range.
Lectric XP Lite: Is It Worth It? Our Verdict
This really is a bike built for everyone, and we can imagine an XP Lite as an ideal micromobility essential for every household, as essential as your microwave, and useful for everyone from older kids to seniors.
You can fold it up and stow it in the trunk. If parking is sparse, park a few miles away and ride your XP Lite. Keep in the garage, the closet, a corner of your bedroom. Ride it to public transit and fold and lock it up, or keep it in the office.
Ride it to campus, keep in it a dorm, get two for romantic weekend rides that won’t break your bank account. However you use a Lectric XP Lite, you probably won’t want to live without the convenience of this ebike after a while.
Can we recommend this bike? Absolutely, but be warned: You’re gonna get attached.
