We Get Our First Look at the Jackrabbit OG2
Jackrabbit OG2 – The Micro Ebike Gets an Upgrade
You remember the Jackrabbit, the tiny ebike-like scooter, or scooter-like ebike, or “micro ebike” without pedals?
The tiny wonder appeared in two varieties – OG and XG. It can be ridden by a full-sized adult but is so compact, you can fly with it and bring the battery as a carry-on, as our tester Mitchell did back in March.
Now Jackrabbit adds to their lineup the latest edition: the Jackrabbit OG2. It looks a lot like its predecessor, but it’s got some cool new design and tech. At 25 pounds, it only adds a pound of weight but it’s even more compact for plane travel (or any other kind of travel).
We caught up with Jackrabbit at San Francisco’s Electrify Expo, and Paul got his first look at the OG2. It’s on sale now for $1,249, while the original OG goes for $999 and the XG is $1,799. All three Jackrabbits have a top speed of 20 mph and all three are throttle-driven, with no gearing or pedals.
The OG2 has a new, more aggressive frame design with internal cable routing and headlight and tail light ports for powering your LEDs. It’s also got a speedometer, which the first OG lacks, and some beefy new folding foot pegs.

The Jackrabbit OG2 – an Even Better Traveler
The Jackrabbit OG2 also has a fold-to-flat mode that does what it says, making the version even more travel-friendly. While its small battery can only be counted on for 10 miles of range on average, it’s swappable, and you can double that number if you buy a $200 spare.
As Jason of Jackrabbit demonstrates in the clip from our Electrify Expo visit above, you can also spend $400 for the Jackrabbit RangeBuster battery and get an additional 24 miles of range. The batteries, like everything else on the bike, are compact and UL Certified for safety. Only the standard size battery is FAA approved for air travel, however.
Jackrabbit is not just the only electric bike approved for flight by the FAA; it’s also the only ebike suitable for riding indoors, although your apartment, office hallways, or kid’s classroom probably aren’t the best locations.

The Only Ebike with an "Indoor Mode"

Imagine exhibition halls, shopping malls, warehouses (and... maybe airports?), and you'll see what the Jackrabbit's "indoor mode" is for. It's also great on boardwalks, says Jason.
Jackrabbits in general – as we found when we tested the original OG – are just super-friendly around crowds of people in a way few other ebikes are.
We're excited to ride one of these around the Rider Guide offices. Until then, check out the best price and learn more about the Jackrabbit OG2 at the link below. Ride responsibly and always wear a helmet!
