In this Kaabo Mantis comparison, we'll show you the differences between various Mantis scooters including performance and features, how each model differs, and why you might buy one over the others.
Introduction
Kaabo Mantis scooters frequently find themselves on best-of scooter lists and are popular among riders for many reasons. The rock solid build and punchy ride quality has only gotten better over the years. Kaabo recently re-engineered their stem bolt design for safety and stability.
When you look at the various Kaabo Mantis scooters together, it might be hard to tell them apart — but their price ranges, features, and ride characteristics couldn't be more different.

Mantis 8 versus Mantis 10

The Mantis 10 variants are larger, heavier and more powerful than their Mantis 8 counterparts.

Rider skill level | New rider | Expert | Intermediate | Expert |
The Mantis 8 and 8 Pro variants are better suited to shorter or smaller riders, due to their smaller size, shorter deck to handlebar distance, and lighter weight.
However, the acceleration on the base Mantis 8 is much smoother and more gradual than on the Mantis 8 Pro, which is actually quicker off the start line than the base Mantis 10, all the way up to 30 mph. That's the main reason why the base Mantis 8 is suitable for a new rider, while the Mantis 8 Pro really isn't.
The Mantis 10 variants are generally better for bigger, more experienced riders, as they're 5 lbs to 10 lbs heavier with a slightly longer wheelbase than the Mantis 8 variants.
However, an expert-level rider of shorter stature may prefer the overall better stability the Mantis 10 offers, which is why they're suitable for all rider sizes. The Mantis 10 variants work for any experienced scooterer willing to contend with a larger scooter for a more powerful ride.
In general, the Mantis Pro editions will be significantly more powerful with touchier throttles — which is why we’ve labeled them for expert-level riders.
If you’re a new rider and still keen on a Pro edition, make sure to dial back the P-settings and run in single-motor mode until you’ve built up your skill.

All Mantis models score well on portability given their performance and have exceptional power to weight ratios.

All Mantis scooters offer the same (pretty outstanding) ride quality features.
The Mantis 8 and Mantis 8 Pro have smaller tires and a shorter wheelbase than the Mantis (10) and Mantis (10) Pro, which are slightly more comfortable for larger riders and offer a more stable ride overall.
The Mantis 8 variants also feature tubeless pneumatic tires on solid rims. These tires are more puncture-resistant than tubed ones found on the Mantis 10/Pro. However, the Mantis 10/Pro has a split rim, making it much easier to remove the tire to replace inner tubes.
There's less than [esg_unit 1 in] difference in deck-to-handlebar height and a little over [esg_unit 1 in] difference between models in deck length between the 8 and 10 models.
All models have disc brakes, but with some distinctions. Both Pro variants have outstanding fully hydraulic brakes that give the best stopping power and control. The Mantis 10 (base) has semi-hydraulic brakes that are still activated by a cable but better than standard cable disc brakes. The base Mantis 8 comes with standard cable-operated disc brakes.
The disc brakes of the base Mantis 8/10 scooters do have an ergonomic advantage, though.
Throttle-to-brake distance is significant on the Mantis 8/10 Pro editions.
The Mantis 8 Pro and Mantis 10 Pro and have a 1.75 in throttle-to-brake distance due to the hydraulic cylinder. They are less ergonomic in general and particularly for riders with small hands.
This is true of any electric scooter cockpit where you've got a trigger throttle and hydraulic brake configuration.

Comparison to Other Mantis Scooters
The Pro is like the Mantis 10 but on steroids, amping it up with fully hydraulic Zoom brakes, a larger battery, EY3 throttle, and more powerful controllers. It's a beast carrying riders uphill and by far the fastest of the four off the starting line. It also happens to have the very best braking in the Manti family.
