New World's Fastest Electric Scooter? See the Slack Core 920R
A New Scooter Land Speed Record?
Rider Guide has tested and reviewed 10 of the fastest electric scooters in the world, with the caveat that scooters we test are vehicles consumers can reasonably expect to purchase and ride on a regular basis.
There are always going to be outliers, custom built scooters, prototypes, and limited runs that never make it to production, and we frequently get questions about them. “What about the [fill in your favorite boutique scooter here]?”
One of the scooters we get asked about is the Slack Core 920R, which might legitimately claim the title of fastest electric scooter in the world, with documented speeds of over 90mph.
Can you order one of these things for yourself? Well, maybe, but you’re going to spend around 8K for the privilege, and that’s before shipping.
Slack Core 920R Kills the Competition with 90+ MPH Speeds
Built with a titanium frame and 33,600 Watts of power (yes, you read that right), the Slack Core 920R is a racing scooter, made for the track, and unless you plan on racing electric scooters, it’s not a very practical ride and could get you killed. But it’s a fascinating beast to see in action.
In the video short at the top from the recent Rider Guide-sponsored Rider Fest in Alameda, CA, see our racing expert Paul Somerville interview Jose from Peak Rides, the West Coast importer of Slack Core scooters, which are manufactured by Numo, the company that once made Weped.
Unfortunately we were unable to test out the model on display at Rider Fest because it was a customer build. But you can find out how this premium racing machine achieves its top speeds on the track. Learn more about Slack Core electric scooters here.
