The Ride1Up REVV 1 Sets a Standard for Moped EBikes
As the competition heats up, Super 73 clones are starting to get even better than the original, at least in some ways, for hundreds less.Â
Ride1Up REVV 1
Moped-style electric bikes will all inevitably get compared to the Super 73s, and this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. As the competition heats up, Super73 clones are starting to get even better than the original, in some ways, for hundreds of dollars less. Â
Take the Ride1Up REVV 1. People absolutely love this bike. Everyone from customers, to reviewers, and even people on Reddit love this bike. A lot of that love has to do with the fact that it costs $1000 less than its main competition, the Super 73 RX.Â
The full suspension runs about $2,295. If you want to spend a little less, you can get a hardtail version for around 1,795. In either case, you get a 52 volt, 20Ah Samsung battery and a 750W Bafang hub motor.Â
LIke the Super 73 RX, the suspension is fully adjustable, and as you’ll see in my full video review, the Revv 1 climbs off-road hills even better than the Super 73, and you’ll never believe how it does in a race against a pickup truck.

Top Speed
Let’s get right to it: The Ride1Up REVV 1 comes in the box as a Class 2 ebike with a top speed of 20 mph. BUT, 35+ mph top speeds are achievable on this bike when you unlock the REVV 1’s off road speed mode, and Ride One Up won’t let me reveal how that’s done on pain of death.Â
Once unlocked, however, the REVV 1’s 750W Bafang hub motor produces almost 1,500W of power, and the bike rides more like a cafe cruiser than an ebike. Even with a noticeable headwind, I pushed the speedometer up to about 38 mph on my first run.Â
On a second ride, I hit 35 mph on the speedometer, while my phone GPS showed 34. So, it’s fair to say that once you get this bike out of Class 2 mode, you can push it to somewhere between 35-38 mph.
Throttle Response
There are also five pedal assist modes if you want to use them, but the REVV 1 isn’t really intended as a pedal bike.
Although it's sold as a pedelec (Class 2) electric bike, it is primarily an electric moped designed to be driven by a throttle.
The REVV 1 has four-piston hydraulic brakes with a 203 millimeter disc. They work well, and I haven’t noticed any brake fade whatsoever.
The tires are CTS Scout brand, and a lot of Chinese-made bikes come with them. They are a nice, soft compound, perfect for riding on the road.
I would hesitate to call them all-terrain tires, but apparently Ride One Up will be coming out with a more off-road focused version of the REVV1.
The bike weighs 93 pounds, about 3 pounds heavier than the Super 73, and 10 pounds heavier than the hardtail version of the REVV 1. You only get one sprocket, and it’s only useful up to about 12 mph, but again, this isn’t a bike meant for pedaling.
Additional Features
You get a nice LCD screen where you can adjust the pedal assist and check speed and distance. By far, the best feature on this bike is the stock seat. People have raved about it, and I can see why. It’s a great seat, and I can find no reason to change it.Â
Should You Buy the Ride One Up Ride1Up REVV1?
For the most part, I’d say that the REVV 1’s real-world specs really match up the claimed numbers. Really, my only complaint about this bike is that the suspension felt really firm off road, but you don’t notice it on the road.
Overall, you can’t expect an Öhlins Suspension setup on a $2,200 bike, and you’ll be very happy with what the REVV 1 offers for the price. This is a real value for a Super 73 RX competitor that’s even better than the original in some ways.
