Summary

The mid-range electric scooter scene is evolving fast in 2025, and Swiss brand VMAX is stepping in with two standout models: the VX2 Hub and VX2 Gear. After testing over 180 electric scooters, we found both models bring serious value to the table. The VX2 Hub is the faster and more powerful of the two, hitting up to 34 mph with a 1900W peak motor, strong mechanical disc brakes, and a real-world range of 23–30 miles. The VX2 Gear, while topping out at 20 mph, impresses with torque-heavy hill climbing, a lighter 49 lb frame, and a more relaxed city-friendly ride—ideal for bike lanes or shorter commutes.

Both scooters come with 10-inch pneumatic tires, dual spring suspension, IPX6 water resistance, turn signals, and a smart app, giving them a premium feel without the premium price. The ride quality is smooth and confident, with suspension tuning that absorbs rough roads better than most in this class. If you want performance and can stretch your budget an extra $100, the VX2 Hub is the better all-around pick. But if you're more focused on comfort, city cruising, and keeping things lightweight, the VX2 Gear is still a great buy. Either way, these scooters are proof that the mid-range market just got a lot more interesting.
