Dualtron Announces Its Latest: the Dualtron Popular

What’s In a Name?
The Popular? Okay... we’re not huge fans of the name.
You can’t give yourself a nickname and expect it to stick. And if you call yourself “Popular,” it doesn’t mean you are.
But everything else about this new scooter from Dualtron has our attention, especially since the company who makes Dualtron scooters – Minimotors – hasn’t released a scooter many people can afford in some time.
It seems that with the Popular, Dualtron wants to get back in the mid-tier commuter game and compete with other electric scooters that are already… well... quite well-known, shall we say, for their reliability, speed, range, etc.

Who Is the Popular For?
The new Dualtron Popular is not for everyone. It looks to be a solid mid-range commuter, not an entry-level or expert scooter.
With a claimed top speed of 40mph, max range of nearly 50 miles, and an MSRP of $1100, the Popular’s nearest competitors include stalwarts like Apollo’s City Pro and the EMOVE Cruiser.
The new Dualtron Popular will have two 450W motors, 9-inch air filled tires, an EY2 color display, front and rear suspension, and dual drum brakes. There are also three choices of battery size: two with generic cells and one with larger LG cells.
The Popular's specs make it suitable for riders who use their electric scooter in place of a car for everyday commutes and who enjoy taking a long leisure ride on the weekend.
